C/O A DailyKOS diary
Dear Mr. Russert, this diary is intended to convey my apologies to you for the previous comments that I have posted on this Blog questioning your journalistic integrity. Recent events have led me to realize that I have been falsely accusing you of a lack of professional integrity, and I am truly sorry for that. I made such judgements of you without full knowledge of the facts, and I was wrong to do so
I'm sorry for those instances where I questioned your integrity, and I hope you will accept my apologies for my actions

PS: for Mr. Russert:
in case you are wondering why this apology is necessary, allow me to explain: I have made several comments in the past two years at this site (which I won't dignify by linking to this diary) questioning your continued coverage of the Plame Conspiricy, based upon false assumtions of your involvement in the case. Until friday I had wrongly supposed that you were one of several media personalities who had received certain leaked classified information from Scooter Libby.
I now realize that your involvement in this scandal was only related to your being an innocent person falsely accused by Scooter Libby of being Scooter's original source, and not related to your being one of the reporters who recieved unlawfull disclosures of classified materials
In light of this new information, I apologize for the derogatory remarks I posted, and I assure you that I would retract those comments if I were able. I also apologize for any future use of those comments by anybody who seeks to use my comments against you and your reputation or your personal and professional ethics
(but I stand by my remarks about Judy Miller, Chris Matthews, and Andrea Mitchell)
PPS: For any KOSSACKS who want more information on Mr. Russert's role in the Plame conspiricy, see this
NY Times Article or the
transcript of Fitzgerald's press conference from the WaPo
from the WaPo transcript:
In fact, Mr. Libby discussed the information about Valerie Wilson at least half a dozen times before this conversation with Mr. Russert ever took place, not to mention that *when he /(libby)/ spoke to Mr. Russert, Mr. Russert and he never discussed Valerie Wilson or Wilson's wife*.
once again Mr. Russert, I apologize for doubting your integrity
